Dr. Shacham is an ecologist and expert herpetologist. He is the Herpetology Collection Manager at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and lectures in classrooms and outdoors all over Israel. He has worked as a field guide for the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel since 1997 and has been a zoology consultant for the Israel Nature and Parks Authority for over a decade. His research interests include distribution, ecology and conservation of reptiles and amphibians in Israel, and he is actively involved in bio-monitoring efforts of reptiles in Israel.
