Academic Programs

The Department of Environmental Studies offers a range of graduate environmental studies programs. All of our degree programs reflect an interdisciplinary approach, based on the premise that addressing environmental challenges requires a broad outlook and the integration of varied fields of research.

International MA Program in Environmental Studies

This program provides international students a global understanding of the environmental field, with an integrated emphasis of local environmental aspects related to Israel's unique geographic and geopolitical situation. (Taught in English)

Master's Program MA / MSc (Thesis Track)

This program is interdisciplinary by nature, as each student has two thesis advisors, each from a different field, representing diverse angles of the research topic. The curricula are constructed individually, in accordance with each student's chosen research theme. (Taught in Hebrew)

Master's Program – MA (non-Thesis Track)

The program integrates extensive and global views with local and regional references to environmental issues. It features relevant courses from different faculties, alongside courses specially crafted for PSES students. (Taught in Hebrew)

PhD Program

Students on the doctoral program conduct interdisciplinary research within the broad scope of environmental issues. The study program is constructed individually, according to each student's research topic, and in collaboration with the pertinent faculties.
