Our newly unified International M.A. program is designed to cultivate the next generation of environmental leaders, equipping them with the interdisciplinary knowledge and practical tools needed to address the urgent crises plaguing our planet.

The program is jointly managed by the New Environmental School and the School for Social and Policy Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences. It hosts the students in the green campus of Tel-Aviv University, offering an advanced degree with a distinct perspective. Situated within Israel’s vibrant hub of technological innovation and at the crossroads of the Middle East, we combine academic excellence with real-world relevance, bridging the gap between scientific research, social policy, and entrepreneurship.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

The curriculum provides a rigorous foundation in environmental science, social sciences and policy making. You will gain a deep understanding of the physical drivers of change – from biodiversity loss and environmental pollution to the climate crisis – while mastering the legal, political, and behavioral strategies needed to drive solutions.

Beyond the core curriculum, you will tailor your degree by choosing one of our specialized tracks:

  • Environmental Entrepreneurship & Management: Designed for future leaders in the green economy. This track focuses on sustainable business strategies, corporate responsibility, and innovation, equipping you with the management tools to drive environmental change in the private and public sectors.
  • Sustainable Development: Ideal for those seeking to lead innovation and implementation of equitable solutions for the global population. This track emphasizes development economics, social innovation, and fieldwork to improve livelihoods in developing communities.
  • Climate Change Policy: A pioneering social-science focus designed for those who wish to expand knowledge of a phenomenon that is already shaping the future of civilizations, and pursue influential careers that address challenges,  with multiple instruments from a complex domestic and transnational toolbox of governance instruments.

From Theory to Practice

We believe in learning by doing. Regardless of your track, you will gain hands-on experience through local field trips, research projects, and a unique Professional Internship (Practicum). You will integrate into leading environmental NGOs, government agencies, tech companies, or civil society organizations, gaining the professional experience needed to launch your career.
