Interdisciplinary Research

The Porter School of Environmental Studies (PSES) facilitates broad interdisciplinary research, based on the understanding that environmental issues address all aspect of our lives, and all fields of academic research.

The Porter School of Environmental Studies (PSES), in line with leading environmental research and teaching institutions around the world, integrates environmental aspects into fields from the broad academic spectrum: from natural and exact sciences (geophysics, biology, etc.), via humanities and social sciences (philosophy, sociology, etc.); through to arts (architecture), engineering, management and law. PSES maintains constant cooperation with the different faculties of the Tel Aviv University, and binds under its auspices more than one hundred researchers in varied fields of knowledge, from within Tel Aviv University as well as from other institutions.

 

Interdisciplinary Research Topics

PSES provides a unique opportunity for its faculty and students: to generate interesting – at times surprising – interdisciplinary collaborations, some of which might constitute brand new fields of research. Research undertaken by PSES students addresses extensive and varied aspects of the world and the modern environment, including: marine biology, social marketing, environmental economics, solar energy, climate change, stream and river rehabilitation, environmental legislation, environmental justice, and much more.
