Porter School Building Architects Win First Prize at AEC Excellence Awards 2017
The architects of the Porter School of Environmental Studies building won first place at the Sustainability category of the Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) Excellence Awards 2017 competition. The winners were presented at the AEC Convention last week at Las Vegas .
The Autodesk AEC Excellence Awards honor architects and construction projects for the use of BIM Autodesk technology for architecture, engineering & construction. The awards are presented at the annual Autodesk University conference.
Nir Chen (NCA), Joseph Cory (Geotectura) and Yasha Grobman (Axelrod-Grobman Architects,), the architects of the Porter School of Environmental Studies Building and Assa Aharoni Consulting Engineers won first place at the Sustainability category at the AEC Convention last week at Las Vegas.
When the architects competition for designing the Porter School building took place, it was decided, following the multidisciplinary and collaborative values of the school, that three distinctive architects will win first place and will be required to work together, as a team, to design and construct the building. In 2004 the building was completed, being the first building in Israel to win LEED Platinum accreditation. The successful project was just another demonstration that collaboration and team work are winning formulas. Last week the AEC Excellence Awards showed once again that collaboration is a winner, with the three distinguished architects winning first place in the Sustainability category
