Who We Are

The New Environmental School at Tel Aviv University is an academic platform dedicated entirely to environmental issues, grounded in a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach.

The school was established in response to the growing need for knowledge, research, and training of experts and researchers in a variety of environmental fields. It offers graduate study and research programs that allow in-depth exploration of a selection of burning contemporary topics.

The new school's interdisciplinary approach to the environment fosters cross-fertilization among the natural and exact sciences and the humanities and social sciences. The combination of environmental aspects across disciplines produces new fields of research and knowledge that feed the transformation of thinking taking place today in Israel and around the world.

As part of its overall vision, the New Environmental School seeks to bring academic knowledge on environmental issues beyond the walls of the academy to where it is most needed: in the national and local governments, the legal system, the education system, industry, businesses, and public institutions. To this end, the school maintains relationships and collaborations with many bodies in the public and private sectors, as well as with environmental organizations and research institutions in Israel and around the world.
