Call for Applications for a Joint Tenure Track Faculty Position in the Faculty of Law and the Porter School of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University

The Buchmann Faculty of Law and the Porter School of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University invite applicants to fill a joint tenure-track faculty position in the field of law and environmental studies at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. Researchers combining the two fields and approaching the combination with any suitable and relevant disciplinary tools and methodologies will be considered.

Positions are available from the beginning of October 2017.

Individuals holding a doctoral degree and doctoral students at advanced stage of the writing of their doctoral dissertation who will receive their doctoral degree before October 2017 are encouraged to apply.

A successful applicant will be expected to develop an innovative, independent research program, and to share our commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.

  1. Cover letter
  2. Curriculum vitae with a full list of publications.
  3. Research statement (should not exceed three pages and should include past research accomplishments, current projects and future research plans).
  4. Up to three letters of recommendation to be sent directly by referees.

Call for Applications for a Joint Tenure Track Faculty Position in the Faculty of Engineering and Porter School of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University

The Iby and Aldar Fleischman Faculty of Engineering and the Porter School of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University invite applicants with expertise in Renewable Energy to fill a joint tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Positions are available from the beginning of October 2017.

Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:

  • Alternative fuels: production of renewable fuels (hydrogen, hydrocarbons) from resources such as biomass, CO2, water and solar energy. Fuel upgrading processes from fossil resources such as gasification and GTL. Treatment, storage and transport of alternative fuels. Application of alternative fuels in transportation, power plants, and industry, characterization of their energetic, environmental and economic performance in comparison to conventional fuels. 
  • Energy in the built environment: energy production and consumption in cities, distributed generation, distributed energy storage. Energy aspects of sustainable urban planning, interactions with transportation, water, waste, environmental monitoring, and other systems. Dynamic control of energy systems and energy consumers, smart homes, cities and grid, demand side management. Centralized (utility) vs. distributed systems. 

Individuals holding Ph.D. with two or more years of postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in research and strong potential for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative extramural funding. A successful applicant will be expected to develop an innovative, independent research program, and to share our commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.
