Summer Institute: Application Instructions


Rolling admissions until May 27, 2014



Step 1
Complete your student profile on the Tel Aviv University International website.

Be sure to choose "Summer Institute: Environmental Studies" when applying.

Have ready for your application:

  1. Personal profile information
  2. Your academic history

Upload to your student portal account the following documents:

  1. A digital passport-style photo. 
  2. A personal statement of no more than 400 words describing your background and knowledge in environmental studies.
  3. Your updated CV (optional).
  4. One letter of recommendation from an individual who can knowledgeably comment on your ability to successfully complete graduate level coursework.  
  5. After acceptance to the program you will also be asked to have your physician fill out a Medical Form, available for download here.


Step 2

Mail in official transcripts from each post-secondary school you attended.

For American students:

Notarized English translations of each transcript (where applicable) must be included.

Step 3

Applicants with qualifications from a university where the primary language of teaching and examination is not English will be required to submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores of no less than 89 for internet-based tests, 230 for computer-based tests, and 575 for paper-based tests.  IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores of no less than 7.0 will also be acceptable for non-native English speakers.
To submit your test scores:  

1. Upload a student copy of TOEFL or IELTS scores to your Student Portal Profile (see link above). 
2. Request official copies of your scores to be sent to TAU International.  The Tel Aviv University code is 7704.
