Annual green building conference provides a glimpse of the EcoBuilding

The 2nd annual conference on green building in Israel was held yesterday, Monday Sept. 2nd 2013, By the ILGBC, and hosted by the Porter School of Environmental Studies at the Tel Aviv University. The conference promotes green building in the national level, and addressed issues such as the built environment, sustainable neighborhoods and interior design. Conference participants were invited to join one of five parallel tours, each focusing on a different theme of the Porter School's EcoBuilding:
- Architecture and material aspects – guided by Dr. Yasha Grobman, one of the architects of the building.
- Aspects of project management – guided by Engineer Lior Eini, Director of Sustainability at Baran Group.
- Implementation of green building principles in landscape development – guided by landscape architect Ruth Maoz, Braude-Maoz Landscape Architecture.
- Passive and active climate design – guided by Yehoshaphat Aharoni, A. Aharoni Consulting Engineers and Avi Bleiberg, Electra.
- Adapting the building to LEED and the Israeli green building standard 5281 – guided by Hofit Yitzhak Ben-Shalom, Monitoring and documentation of the construction process.
